How much more does OEM car glass cost than aftermarket glass?
OEM car glass often costs $75 to $250 more than quality aftermarket glass, depending on the vehicle. The difference is larger on luxury, electric, and ADAS-equipped vehicles.

OEM glass is made to the original vehicle manufacturer specification. Aftermarket glass can still meet safety standards, but may differ in branding, acoustic layer, tint, sensor brackets, or camera-mount tolerances.
For older non-ADAS vehicles, quality aftermarket glass can be a practical way to lower the cash price. For vehicles with cameras, OEM or high-quality equivalent glass may improve calibration reliability.
The best choice depends on your vehicle and insurer. Some insurance policies specify aftermarket glass unless OEM is required or requested.
